The Daniel Boone National Forest offers the perfect place for a driving excursion. The everchanging palette of the seasons offers a unique experience no matter what time of year you visit. More than 600 miles of road (see our Motor Vehicle Use Maps) allow drivers to explore the heart of eastern and southern Kentucky forests on a weekend road trip or for just a few hours of touring.

Some roads are specially designated as a scenic byway. The winding Red River Gorge National Scenic Byway and Zilpo National Forest Scenic Byway offer spectacular views of the forest.

Commercial outfitters or guides and groups of 75 people or more must obtain a Special Use permit.
