Viewing Wildlife

The Dakota Prairie Grasslands offer visitors opportunities to view elk, antelope, whitetail and mule deer, bighorn sheep, coyotes, greater prairie chickens, sharptail grouse, pheasants, wild turkeys, eagles, falcons, busy prairie dogs, and much more.  This also includes many declining, threatened, or endangered species whose populations are monitored in restored habitats.  For more information and local wildlife in each district, please visit the local ranger station to view maps and brochures.
