Riding and Camping on the Hoosier National Forest
The Hoosier has over 200 miles of trails for equestrian use. These trails are usually shared with mountain bikers and hikers. Horse riders are required to have a permit and stay on trails designated for their use. Horse riders are asked to control their horses, especially when passing other users.
Safety Information
- Please be aware that bees, wasps and hornets are a natural part of the forest environment and they tend to be more active during the fall. Please plan ahead and be prepared for potential insect encounters while visiting the forest.
The Hoosier does not have horses available to ride. Riders must bring their own horses.
