Snowmobiling

Snowmobile

Snowmobiling is welcome on the Klamath National Forest. Most riders use the groomed Tri-Forest Snowmobile Trails, a network linking the Klamath, Modoc, and Shasta-Trinity National Forests with more than 250 miles of trails.

Elsewhere, snowmobile use is allowed anywhere on the Forest, except designated wilderness areas.

For information on the Tri-Forest Snowmobile Trails, a trail conditions report is updated as trails are groomed during the winter.

All snowmobiles must have a current state registration, securely attached and displayed on the snowmobile.  Do not exceed 15 miles per hour within 50 feet of animals, people, campsites, and parking areas.  Don't damage resources, harass wildlife, and of course, don't ride while intoxicated.  Wheeled vehicles are prohibited from groomed snowmobile trails.
