The Malheur National Forest has many opportunities for winter recreation.  From skiing and snow shoeing, to sledding, snowboarding and snowmobiling. 

On the Malheur National Forest there are 3 seperate snow parks for snow mobiliers, Huddleston Sno-Park on Prairie City Ranger District, Starr Sno-Park on Blue Mountain Ranger District, Idlewild SnoPark on Emigrant Creek Ranger District.  A Sno-Park permit is required when using any of the forests Sno-Parks.

There are multiple cross country ski trails and miles upon miles of terrain to snow shoe.  On forest there is one sledding hill with a warming hut, Starr Snow Bowl, known to the locals as Starr Ridge.
