XC Skiing/Snowshoeing

In winter, many of the closed fire roads throughout the forest provide an excellent travel surface for cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
When parking your vehicle, never park in front of a closed or locked gate. Road markers are often covered by snow. Carry a map and compass and know how to use both. Advise someone at home of you destination, return time and description of your vehicle.
If you plan to use a campstove, barbeque or build a campfire, you will need a current California Campfire permit.
