  Barlow Ranger District is on the East side of Mount Hood.

  The campground is easily accessible and very popular due to the beautiful lake and serene atmosphere. This campground is located on the Rock Creek Reservoir, popular for families & anglers, and shaded by lovely ponderosa pines.

• Clackamas River Ranger District

  Clackamas River Ranger District is southwest of Mt. Hood. In 2020, the district was heavily impacted by the 140,000-acre Riverside Fire that was propelled by the historic Labor Day windstorm. Visitors can see the Riverside Fire burn scar along Highway 224/Clackamas River.

• Carter Bridge Campground

  On the Wild and Scenic Clackamas River. The campground is a compact single loop through cedars, maples, and alders. A couple of berry patches suggest good picking in late summer. Some sites have great views of the river. Popular recreation activities include fishing and whitewater rafting.

  Cabins, yurts, camping, fishing, boating, and hiking available at this beautiful scenic and quiet privately operated resort on Mt. Hood National Forest. Please be mindful of the remote nature of the Olallie Lake Scenic Area. There is no cell phone service. The roads are rough and there are no gas stations or auto repair shops, so have your gas tank full and come prepared.

  Hood River Ranger District spans the North, East, and part of the South side of Mt Hood.

• Lost Lake Campground, Resort and Day Use Area

  Recreation: Lost Lake Campground offers an abundance of activities. Campers have access to a resort store, which offers: canoe, kayak, wooden boats, metal fishing boats and stand-up paddleboard rentals. There are a number of hiking and biking trails near the campground ranging in length from 0.25 mile to over 100 miles. Other activities include bird watching, berry picking, swimming, waterfall finding or simply enjoying one of the many scheduled activities such as telescoped stargazing, special Forest Service events or live music.

  Facilities: Lost Lake Campground is adjacent to a full service resort with a variety of campsites to accommodate all types of visitors, including group, family and single campsites. In addition to the campsites, there are cabins, yurts, lodge rooms and an extensively stocked general store on site. There is drinking water at designated locations and pit toilets throughout. Each site has a designated tenant location, picnic table and fire ring. Firewood is available for purchase at the general store. This campground has a minimum three night stay on weekends and holidays.

  Fish Your National Forests: Types of fishing available include: Wade, Shore, Non-motorized boat, Float tube, Fly, Spin, Bait.  ADA Accessible fishing access with fishing pier, boat launch, and fish cleaning station.
  
  The Lost Lake Resort operates under a special use permit issued by the Mt. Hood National Forest.

• Zigzag Ranger District

  Zigzag Ranger District spans 250,000 acres on the south and west side of Mt Hood and is about an hour from Portland. 

  The district manages one of the region's largest recreation programs including 550 summer homes, 30 developed campgrounds, three ski areas including Timberline Lodge, over 300 miles of trails, and two wilderness areas.  

  The district also manages the Bull Run Watershed cooperatively with the City of Portland, which supplies drinking water to the Portland metro area. 

  The Zigzag Ranger District offices are historic, constructed in the 1930s by the CCC.

  Pine Point Campground is located on the southwest side of Timothy Lake, in the shadow of Mt. Hood. There are miles of scenic trails surrounding the campground and access to the lake provides endless recreation possibilities. There is a large parking area on the lakeshore for boaters. The campground has barrier-free campsites and restrooms
