Planning to Camp? (Stay Limits/Dispersed Camping Restrictions) til Dec. 15, 2026

The following is prohibited within the Angeles National Forest and San Gabriel Mountains National Monument from Dec. 16, 2022, through Dec. 15, 2026:
 

1. Camping outside of a Forest Service developed campground for > 7 consecutive days in a calendar year. 

2. Camping outside of a Forest Service developed campground and within 300 feet of the centerline of any city, county, or state road for > 3 days in a calendar year. 

3. Camping inside of a Forest Service developed campground > 14 consecutive days in a calendar year. 

4. Camping for > 21 total days in a calendar year.

A violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both.
