The last four miles of Forest Service Road 24, the Battle Park Road, will be closed beginning September 5, 2017, to October 1, 2017. The closure includes the road and the area 300 feet from the centerline on both sides of the road, starting at the junction of Forest Service Road 24 and Forest Service Road 360 to the Lily Lake Trailhead.
The closure is to protect public safety while heavy equipment is working in the area to replace a drainage structure on Forest Service Road 24 where the road crosses Middle Paintrock Creek.
The Battle Park Trailhead will not be accessible to full-size vehicles during the closure period but will be accessible to ATVs using alternate routes.
Signs and maps will be posted along the road and at campgrounds, trailheads, and other locations to make people aware of the pending closure.
For more information about the closure, contact the Powder River Ranger District in Buffalo at 307.684.7806.
