The Chippewa National Forest no longer has firewood available in the forest campgrounds due to circumstances that include reduced staffing and constraints on the agency to sell such items. Visitors may acquire firewood from local vendors, resorts, grocery stores and gas stations before arriving at their destination. The Chippewa National Forest will post a list of potential locations for firewood purchase on forest bulletin boards. Campers are welcome to collect dead and down wood for campfires from the surrounding forest.
