Klickitat Mile One Overnight Use & Large Boat Launch Prohibition

Klickitat Mile One, also known as Klickitat County Park, in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, is a public use site with access to the Klickitat Wild and Scenic River. Effective July 2, 2021, overnight use of the Klickitat Mile 1 recreation site including camping or leaving a vehicle at the site overnight are prohibited. In addition, the launching or landing of larger boats and vessels that cannot be hand carried to the water via the river access trail or rquire a trailer for transport are prohibited.
Prohibitions:
1. Camping (36 CFR 261.58(e))
2. Parking or leaving a vehicle in violation of posted instructions (36 CFR 261.58(g))
3. Launching of large boats, defined as those that cannot be hand carried to the water and/or require a trailer for transport (36 CFR 261.58(r))
