  • Risks of using unauthorized transport

    El Yunque National Forest's recreational corridor and El Portal visitor center are not pick-up points for rideshare mobile apps. Users can mark both locations when requesting service, but the app does not allow visitors to be picked up at these points.

  • Closed for construction Baño de Oro Trail

    Trail remains closed as part of the Federal Highway Emergency Relief (ERFO) construction project.

    The following trails remain closed: 

    • La Mina Trail
    • Big Tree Trail
    • Baño de Oro Trail

    * El Yunque Peak Trail is open to Los Picachos but still remains closed between Los Picachos spur trail and El Yunque Peak for safety reasons.

    A section of El Yunque trail remains closed due to damage to a retaining wall that represents a health and safety risk for visitors.
