  • Flood Damage on the Finger Lakes 08/14

Flood Damage on the Finger Lakes National Forest will require closure of Caywood Point and has caused damage to access roads for other area campgrounds.

Access to Caywood Point via the road and trail are closed due to both the road and trail being washed out. We do not know when we will be able to re-open this site at this time. Access is still permitted via boat.

We are hoping all trails will be verified tomorrow, but as of now we know that Blueberry Patch and Potomac campgrounds are both accessible.

Backbone Horsecamp road is in poor shape. It is driveable, but please be aware that there has been has washout and conditions are poor until repairs can be made.

We will work to keep this page updated with information.
