As a visitor to the National Forest, you are asked to follow certain rules designed to protect the Forest, natural resources and to provide for public safety of visitors.
These rules are available to you online below or at any office of the Green Mountain and Finger Lakes National Forests. Please take time to read and understand them. If you have additional questions please call your local Forest Service office for clarification.

Hapgood Pond will be Drained after Labor Day
The pond will be drained after Labor Day 2025 in order to facilitate repair to the dam and construct a non-motorized boat access area. The area around the dam including the trail across the structure will be closed to public use during this construction.

Moosalamoo Campground Water System
The Moosalamoo Campground water system hand pump is currently non-operational and is expected to remain non-operational for the summer. Visitors will need to bring their own potable water.

Glastenbury fire tower is closed to public use
Glastenbury fire tower is closed to public use as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has recently deemed the tower structurally unsafe.
