The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) has issued a "DO NOT EAT" advisory for all fish taken from Clarks Marsh, south of the former Wurtsmith Air Force Base, in Iosco County. The MDCH also recommends that people do not eat “resident” fish taken from the lower Au Sable River downstream of Foote Dam to the mouth at Lake Huron. “Resident” fish are those fish in the river year-round, rather than those migrating from Lake Huron during the spawning runs.
