  • Update - 3.5 Miles of Williams River Road Closes January 19

A 3.5-mile section of Williams River Road will close to motorized use January 19, from the gate near Laurel Run in Webster County to the barricade near campsite 8. Campsites 7 & 8 will also be closed. Campsite 8 is the last place to turn around before the barricade. Federal Highway Administration contractors will continue to repair damage caused by the June 2016 flood. The road could be closed up to two years.

Non-motorized use of the closed section will be allowed except where road construction activities are occurring. The riverbank is also closed to all use in the area when construction is actively taking place. Stay alert when visiting this area. Always keep the roadway clear, even in the closed section which will have traffic from construction equipment and other vehicles.
