- Dolly Sods Roads are Closed

Forest Roads 75 and 19 into Dolly Sods are closed for public safety. These roads are closed to motor vehicle use from January to early or mid-April annually due to variable road conditions in the winter months. Non-motorized use of the roads is allowed.
Please avoid the higher elevations of Monongahela National Forest in the winter during snow and ice storms, including Spruce Knob, Dolly Sods, the Highland Scenic Highway and other areas. Even if the weather is clear at lower elevations it can still be treacherous in the mountains.
Landowners and residents who need access behind the gates should contact the Cheat-Potomac Ranger District office in Petersburg for assistance at (304) 257-4488.
