  • Use caution driving on Grassland roads

Thunderstorms on Thursday, May 24, dropped heavy rain across the National Grassland, especially around Skull Hollow and Pine Ridge.

Forest Road 5710 between Skull Hollow and Gray Butte Trailhead is reportedly impassable due to a forceful washout.

Please use caution when driving on the Grassland in these conditions. The soils become very muddy after a large storm.

Motor vehicles may get stuck or may cause resource damage when driving across soils that are excessively wet and muddy.
