  • Emerald Ash Borer

    One of the major concerns of the Ottawa National Forest is the invasion of the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). A quarantine has been established which encompasses 83 Michigan counties. Possessing, storing or transporting any firewood of any species originating from outside the Upper Peninsula of Michigan is prohibited.

    To stop the potential movement of these exotic pests buy or collect firewood once you reach your destination and burn it, do not transport it to another location!
