  • Cedar Lake Recreation Area To Close 9/9/19

    Cedar Lake Recreation Area and adjacent hiking and equestrian trails will close beginning September 9 to allow installation of a new sewage treatment system. The current system has reached capacity and requires continuing maintenance. The area is expected to reopen by January 31, 2020.

    Non-equestrian camping opportunities exist at nearby Winding Stair Campground along the Talimena National Scenic Byway, Shady Lake Campground near Mena, and Lake Wister and Robber’s Cave State Parks.
