Heavy rains cause seasonal flooding across the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area (ODNRA) and these conditions will likely persist throughout the winter. Some sand camping areas and OHV routes may already be impacted by high water.
Before heading to the ODNRA, please call the ODNRA office for the most up-to-date information about site closures at 541-271-6000.
Do not attempt to drive through standing water as it could be deeper than it appears. It is never safe to drive or walk into flood waters. Just 12 inches of rushing water can carry away a small car, while two feet of rushing water can carry away most vehicles.
