Pile burning in effect

Alert

Pile burning is underway across the Willamette National Forest fall through spring to reduce fire fuels during the cool, damp fall weather. As conditions allow, trained firefighting personnel will ignite piles of wooded debris and slash while fire danger is low and monitor them to ensure fire does not spread outside the immediate vicinity.

Smoke may be visible as the piles continue to burn down. Please call your local ranger district with any questions.
