For many, Multnomah Falls is their first or most memorable experience in the Columbia River Gorge. The U.S. Forest Service manages the landscape and operates the small information center at Multnomah Falls, located at the ground level of Historic Lodge. Brochures and maps of the Columbia River Gorge and Pacific Northwest, as well as Northwest Forest Passes, are available. The lodge also includes a restuarant, snack bar, and gift shop operated by a concessionaire. Call (503) 695-2372 or visit for menus, operating hours, and more details.

Directions: Located 15 minutes east of Troutdale, Oregon, it can be reached by the Columbia Gorge Express bus which runs from Portland's Gateway center, Cascade Locks, and Hood River or by car via Exit 31 of I-84. During the busy summer season, the parking lot closes frequently when it fills and drivers are redirected to nearby Rooster Rock for a shuttle service.
