Description and Details

Conecuh Trail is a 20 mile easy to moderate hiking trail that visitors can enjoy all year.

Hikers enjoy passing through a variety of habitats including fire-maintained open longleaf pine, bottomland swamps and bays, and cypress ponds and other natural wetlands.

The entire Conecuh Trail can be hiked in two days.

Mountain biking is welcomed on the 10 miles of the North Loop  and the 1.5 mile Lake Shore Loop at Open Pond.  The remainder of the trail is reserved for hikers only.

Primitive camping is permitted at least 200 feet from the trail, outside of deer gun season (generally February through mid-November)  During deer gun season, written permission from the District Office is needed to camp outside of Open Pond Campground.  This permission ensures adequate coordination with scheduled deer hunts on Blue Spring Wildlife Management Area.
