- The bathhouse at Houston Recreation Area beach will be closed until further notice. There is a vault toilet at the boat ramp for visitors to use. Please reach out if you need any more information or have any questions.
- Recreation areas on Bankhead: Corinth, Clear Creek and Brushy Day Bath House are open.
- The Flint Creek OHV trails will be closed beginning July 2 for forest management activities.
- Houston Day Use is Open.
- Brushy Lake Bathhouse is Open.

- Open Pond Campground A Loop (primitive camping) has been reopened following the completion of road resurfacing. Questions can be directed to the District Ranger Office at (334)222-2555.

- The Forest Service Road Strike Team has Completed Road Maintenance on Forest Service Roads 708,170,716,717,727,728,732,742,743,and 704B, as well as Hale 53 and Clary Hill Roads. The Strike Team will begin road maintenance on the East side of the District starting July 6th, 2023. Temporary road blocks may be implemented. Please plan your route accordingly.

- Hikers are urged to be mindful when hiking the Pinhoti National Recreation Trail at the intersection of Forest Service Road 515. Anticipate an increase in log truck movement along Road 515. Despite the trail being open, hikers should exercise caution when crossing the road.
- Due to the Odum Wildfire, the Highfalls Trailhead and a portion of the Odum Scout Trail extending north, from the trailhead, for approximately 2 miles is temporarily closed to the public.
- The Warden Station Horse Camp overflow camping loop is temporarily closed to camping due to Southern pine beetle damage. All other camping loops are open for camping. All trails are open for riding.
- Forest Service does not hold an easement or right-of-way of record across the Southeastern Land Group property located at the intersection of Skyline Drive and Union T. Road - commonly referred to as Forest Service Road 600-2 - in Talladega County.
- Emergency closure of FSR 651 (entire road) is closed immediately for repairs after impacts from weather events.

- The Bartram Trail from Macon County Road 53 north to the first parking area on Forest Service Road 900 is now back open to the Public.
- Forest Service Road 916 will remain closed. FS Roads 906 from 900 to 910 is now back open to the Public. The south end of FSR 930 just north of the Pleasant Hill Trailhead is temporarily closed due to two washouts along the roadway. All other roads are open.
- There will be a temporary closure of the Chutkee Okhussee and Thloko Okhussee fishing ponds beginning June 12 through June 22 for the youth fishing derby..
- Due to recent personnel changes, the range of walk-in services offered at the Tuskegee NF office will be limited for now. This change will include the sale or issuance of Interagency passes, Senior passes, Military passes, etc., and map sales. Please call the Tuskegee office at 334-552-3145 before visiting for these types of services so that we can make arrangements to serve you. Many of these services are available online or at the Supervisor’s Office at 2946 Chestnut St., Montgomery, AL 36107 or 334-832-4470. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.
