Allegheny National Forest Releases Hoover Project Environmental Assessment for 30-day Comment Period

The Hoover Project environmental assessment (EA) is available for public comment.  It discloses the environmental effects of proposed vegetation (1,338 acres) and invasive plant treatments, stream restoration, and road management within the 8,780 acre project area in Sheffield Township.  The project also includes recreation improvements in the Hector Falls area.  A decision on this project is planned for the fall of 2018 and Bradford District Ranger, Rich Hatfield, is the responsible official.

Comments must be postmarked, or otherwise received, no later than 30 days after publication of the legal notice in the Bradford Era.  Comments may be submitted by:

  • Hand-delivered comments will be accepted 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM at the Bradford Ranger District office.

Comments received, including names and addresses of those who comment, are considered part of the project record and available for public review.
