Waldorf Mine resortation work planned

GEORGETOWN, Colo. (Aug. 30, 2018) The U.S. Forest Service and Trout Unlimited are releasing for public comment the Waldorf Mine Engineering Evaluation and Cost Analysis for future restoration work at the Waldorf Mine in Clear Creek County, Colo. The priorities for future restoration work at the mine will be continued improvement of water quality in Leavenworth Creek, increased safety of the mine portal, management of surface and groundwater flows at the mine, and maintenance and preservation of the historic nature of the mine.

The 30-day public comment period is open from Sept. 4 to Oct. 4, 2018. During this time, the public is encouraged to submit any comments on the proposed plan to U.S. Forest Service or Trout Unlimited Representatives.
