Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests welcomes new Forest Supervisor – Robert Lever

Robert Lever was selected as the permanent Forest Supervisor on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests. He started his new duties early in 2023.
Lever grew up in Bend, Oregon then attended Linfield College where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. He joined the Forest Service in 1993 , beginning on the Crescent Ranger District of the Deschutes National Forest, He then worked on the Ochoco National Forest in North Carolina, Clearwater and Nez Perce National Forest before moving to the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests in 2004.
While Lever is new to the role of Forest Supervisor, he is no stranger to the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests where he held positions of Assistant Fire Management Officer, then as the Fire Management Officer on the Clifton Ranger District; and followed by his role as the Fire Management Officer then District Ranger on the Springerville Ranger District.
Lever replaces the retiring Forest Supervisor, Judy Palmer.
