Pintail Lake Improvements

Release Date: Jul 31, 2017

Construction on facility and accessibility improvements at Pintail Lake will begin on Monday, July 31. This project, funded by a grant from Arizona State Parks, will provide improved facilities and better access to the Pintail Lake Trail, observation blind, and observation deck. Segments of the trail will be closed and public parking disrupted during the construction period, which could last up to 60 days.

Pintail Lake, off of State Hwy. 77, was a first in the nation, being created as an artificial wetland for the disposal of wastewater effluent. The lake was made possible by cooperation with the City of Show Low, the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests and Arizona Game and Fish Department.
