Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests offices closed on Presidents’ Day

In honor of Presidents’ Day all Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests offices and ranger stations will be closed on Monday, February 19, however, forest law enforcement will continue to patrol during this national holiday. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, February 20 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

To encourage everyone to get outdoors and have some fun, the U.S. Forest Service will waive fees at many day-use recreation sites across the country on February 19. The fee-free program is in cooperation with other federal land management agencies under the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act, and fees are waived generally for day-use areas such as picnic grounds, developed trailheads and destination visitor centers. The waiver does not apply to overnight campgrounds, group use fees or fees charged by concession-operated facilities. Contact your local national forest or grassland to learn if your destination requires a fee and if that fee is waived. This fee waiver day is one of the five such days offered by the agency during 2018.
