Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests offices will close Fourth of July in observance of Independence Day
Springerville, AZ--June 29, 2018 – All Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests offices and ranger stations will be closed on Wednesday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day and will resume regular business hours Thursday, July 5, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests continue to be in Stage 2 Fire Restrictions. No campfires, no charcoal, no smoking outside of a building or vehicle. Propane may be used for cooking, heating, and lighting. Please remember that explosives and fireworks are always prohibited on National Forest System lands.
“We encourage people to come and enjoy their national forest; we want to remind them to continue observing the rules that are in place to keep everyone safe,” stated Forest Supervisor Steve Best.
Despite the office closure, fire personnel, law enforcement officers, and recreation staff will be on-duty on the 4th of July holiday for the safety of visitors.
