Telephone, Homestead and Antelope Fire Updates

Telephone Fire:   Start Date: September 3, 2019    Size: 2361 Acres   

Cause: Lightning    

Location: Lakeside Ranger District, near the Lake Mountain Area

Resources: 2 Engines, 1 Water Tender, and 2- Overhead

The Telephone Fire is located on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, Lakeside Ranger District, near the Lake Mountain Area. This wildland fire was discovered Tuesday, September 3, 2019. Resources from the USDA Forest Service remain on the scene. All lines are still holding; smoke remains visible.

No structures are threatened. The cause of the Telephone Fire was started by lightning.

 

Homestead Fire:   Start Date: October 27, 2019    Size: 220 Acres   

Cause: Under Investigation    

Location: Near Forest Service Road (FSR) 117 / Whiting Ranger Area

The Homestead Fire is located on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, Springerville Ranger District, near FSR 117 near the Whiting Ranch Area. The wildland fire was discovered Sunday, October 27, 2019 and has been controlled since Wednesday, November 13, 2019.

No structures are threatened. The cause of the Homestead Fire remains under investigation.

 

Antelope Fire:   Start Date: October 27, 2019    Size: 81 Acres   

Cause: Under Investigation    

Location: Southwest of Vernon near FSR 3 and FSR 4

The Antelope Fire located on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, Lakeside Ranger District, off of FSR 3 and FSR 4, southwest of Vernon about 4-6 miles. This wildland fire was discovered Sunday, October 27, 2019 and has been controlled since Thursday, November 14, 2019.

No structures are threatened. The cause of the Antelope Fire remains under investigation.
