Offices Closed on Monday Feb. 15th for President’s Day

Springerville, AZ - Feb. 10, 2021 — The Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests (ASNFs) Supervisor’s Office and all District Offices will close on February 15th in observance of President’s Day.

Regular business hours will resume Tuesday, Feb. 16, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Although the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest does not charge day-use recreation fees, the USDA Forest Service participates in fee-free days to commemorate the holiday and encourage Americans to visit their public lands. Fees will be waived on President’s Day, Feb. 15th, 2021, for all day-use recreation sites across the country. The waiver does not apply to overnight campgrounds, group use fees, or fees charged by concession-operated facilities.

Since some recreation sites may be closed for the season, visitors are encouraged to contact the appropriate forest office to determine which sites are open and will waive fees or visit Rec.gov to plan your trip.

If you plan to visit the ASNFs over the holiday, check the weather and Know Before You Go. Forest law enforcement will be on-call during this federal holiday. Please follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance and comply with state public health orders to protect yourself and others from COVID-19.
