Rising Waters May Close Flint Creek Campground and Surrounding Area

Contact(s): Leona Rodreick

Heavy spring rains and snow melt, the high volume of water spilling over the Georgetown dam along with rising waters in tributaries flowing into Flint Creek has caused officials to monitor potential flooding of Flint Creek campground and the Flint Creek Campground road. Currently high water is impacting the road near the weir pond and several campsites nearby.

The Pintler Ranger District in coordination with Granite County Sheriff’s Office are monitoring conditions related to potential flooding of this area. Should the need arise, Granite County Sherriff will close access to this area to provide for the safety of visitors and local residents.

If you are planning to visit this area within the next week, check with the Pintler Ranger District in Philipsburg (406) 859-3211 or the Granite County Sheriff's office (406) 859-3251 for status updates.
