The Pintler Ranger District of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest will temporarily close Crystal Creek campground located 28 miles southwest of Philipsburg on MT Hwy 38 near Skalkaho Pass beginning Wed. Aug. 11.

Groomes Excavating of Philipsburg has contracted with the Forest Service to replace a culvert on MT Hwy 38 near Crystal Creek campground. Replacement of the culvert is to improve fish passage in support of native trout populations.

Detours will route single lane traffic through the campground with short delays while work is in progress. Officials anticipate completing work and re-opening the campground Mon. Aug. 23.
