Forest Service Seeks Campground Hosts near Butte

Contact(s): Leona Rodreick

The Forest Service is looking for volunteer hosts to help run Sheepshead recreation area, Beaverdam campground, and Lowland campground this summer.
Volunteer hosts would help keep the areas clean and greet visitors coming to recreate at these areas. In exchange, at Sheepshead, the Forest Service offers the host a private place to park a trailer with water and sewer hookups. Lowlands and Beaverdam campgrounds offer a place to park with water available nearby. The Forest Service will also provide all equipment and cleaning supplies.

Sheepshead recreation area lies 20 miles north of Butte in Elk Park. Lowland campground is also north of Butte. Beaverdam is 20 miles south of Butte in the Fleecer Mountain area.

Sheepshead is open from June 15 through Labor Day and Beaverdam and Lowlands are open from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
