Dry Fork Fire 100% contained

Sheridan, Wyo. (August 4, 2017) – The Dry Fork Fire was 100 percent contained by firefighters yesterday.

The lightning-caused fire was located about eight miles north/northwest of Burgess Junction in the Tongue Ranger District.  

Fire danger in the Bighorn National Forest is high. No fire restrictions are in place in the national forest. Fire managers remind everyone to be mindful of fire prevention practices by making sure campfires are completely extinguished, practicing safe towing, and not parking vehicles on dry grass or brush.
