Buffalo, Wyo. (August 7, 2017) – A short section of Forest Service Road 25, the Canyon Creek Road, will be closed beginning August 14, 2017. The closure is located about three miles from the road’s junction with U.S. Highway 16 where Forest Service Road 25 crosses Canyon Creek.

Through travel will be via a detour on Forest Service Road 452, the Gold Mine Road.

The closure, which will last about four weeks, is necessary while crews install a new culvert that will improve passage for fish and other aquatic organisms. The project is being completed in cooperation with Trout Unlimited, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Wyoming Game and Fish Department, and the Forest Service.

For more information about the closure, contact the Powder River Ranger District in Buffalo at 307.684.7806.
