Boise, Idaho, March 15, 2019 -- The Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Boise and Sawtooth National Forests Invasive Species Project is now available. The proposal is to treat invasive plants on infested areas within the administrative boundaries of the Boise and Sawtooth National Forests including the Sawtooth, Hemingway-Boulders and Cecil D. Andrus- White Clouds Wilderness Areas but excluding the Frank Church – River of No Return Wilderness Area, and including Forest Administrative sites (e.g., Ranger Station sites).

 

The Responsible Officials who will issue decisions on this project are Cecilia Seesholtz, Boise Forest Supervisor and Jim DeMaagd, Sawtooth Forest Supervisor. The Final EIS, Draft Record of Decision, legal notice of opportunity to object are available for review at the Boise Forest Supervisor’s Office in Boise, Idaho, the Sawtooth Forest Supervisor’s Office in Jerome, Idaho, and on the Forest’s website at https://www.fs.usda.gov/project/?project=47151.

 

Filing an Objection: This decision is subject to objection pursuant to 36 CFR 218 (Subparts A & B) and must meet all of the requirements of 36 CFR 218.8. A written objection, including attachments, must be postmarked or received within 45 days after the date that notice of this draft decision is published in The Idaho Statesman, the newspaper of record for this project. The publication date of the legal notice is the exclusive means for calculating the time to file an objection on this project. The legal notice will be published to the project webpage within 4 calendar days of publication at https://www.fs.usda.gov/project/?project=47151.

 

Those wishing to object to this project should not rely upon dates or timeframe information provided by any other source. It is the responsibility of objectors to ensure their objections are received in a timely manner (36 CFR 218.9(a)).
