Plan Need to Change
This document identifies current plan management direction which needs to change in order to address the risks as identified through public involvement and the assessment process. These are the resource areas (vegetation, water, soil, air, riparian areas, etc.) and benefits (grazing, hunting, recreation, etc.) the forest provides that are at risk of not being sustained and not adequately addressed in the current Carson Forest Plan.
For the public meetings and to post on the Carson National Forest’s website, story boards were created to graphically display key risks, the threats, management considerations, desired conditions, and what solutions there may be to reduce the risks and move toward desired conditions. These can be found below.
The Carson National Forest responded to over 1,300 individual comments.
