During the first half of 2023, a third-party facilitator working for the Carson National Forest convened a working group of stakeholders with diverse interests and backgrounds to collaborate on proposals for a multiple-use trail system in the Talpa Foothills area to the east of Taos, NM. The working group completed their work and delivered their final proposals to the Carson National Forest in June of 2023. Working group products will be considered in the development of any future official government proposal under the National Environmental Policy Act process, which includes more opportunities for public engagement.
