Travel Management

The Cibola National Forest and Grasslands has nearly completed the Travel Management process. Because of the size and diversity of the Cibola NF&G, the decision was made to complete the travel management process for each district. Below is an update of the status of the travel management process on each district.

Mt Taylor Ranger District

Mt. Taylor issued a Decision Notice/Finding of No Significant Impact (DN/FONSI) on April 14, 2011. The first Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) was released in January 2012. This map is updated periodically. 

Sandia Ranger District

The Sandia Ranger District completed their travel management process in 2009 and issued the first Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) in April 2011. This map is updated periodically.

Mountainair Ranger District

Mountainair  issued a Decision Notice/Finding of No Significant Impact (DN/FONSI) on May 7, 2012. The first Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) has been published. This map is updated periodically.

Magdalena Ranger District

The Environmental Assessment (EA) for Magdalena has been completed. 

Kiowa/Rita Blanca National Grasslands

Kiowa/Rita Blanca NGs issued a Decision Notice/Finding of No Significant Impact (DN/FONSI) on July 9, 2012. The first Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) has been published. This map is updated periodically.

Black Kettle and McClellan Creek National Grasslands

Black Kettle and McClellan Creek NGs completed their travel management process. The first Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) was issued in September 2010. This map is updated periodically.
