Cibola NF&G Christmas Tree Cutting Program starts Nov. 14

Albuquerque, NM – October 29, 2012.  The Cibola National Forest and Grasslands will begin selling Christmas Tree cutting permits starting November 14, 2012 for the Mt. Taylor and the Magdalena Ranger Districts. However, cutting will only be allowed between November 22 and December 24, 2011.

Cost is $10 per tree (up to 10 feet). For trees that are taller than 10 feet, the cost is $1.00 per foot. For example, a 12-foot tree would cost $12.00. The tags are also good to dig up a living tree rather than cutting one.
