RHINELANDER, Wis. (March 9, 2018) – The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest and forests across the country are seeking qualified applicants to fill intern positions for the 2018 summer season. These paid internships provide students an opportunity to gain valuable experience while enrolled in school.

Vacancy announcements will be open from Monday, March 12 to Friday, March 16.

The vacancies include internships in biological science, business and industry, engineering, general support, human resources, office support, physical sciences, public affairs/visitor information, and social science.

Students currently enrolled in qualifying educational programs or institutions (high school to postgraduate level) may apply for these internships.

The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest is looking to hire two interns to support the Washburn Ranger District in Washburn, WI.

The first position is a GS-0399-03 Office Support internship with duties that will include staffing the front desk, answering visitor questions, organizing files, and assisting with property management.

The second is a GS-1199-03 Business and Industry internship with duties that will include sign inventory and repair, maintaining recreation sites, minor maintenance of buildings (painting, cleaning, etc.), and landscaping support around the office.
