Upcoming Concessionaire Opportunities

The Coconino National Forest is advertising a pre-solicitation to inform interested parties of the upcoming campground concession opportunity. Site visits will occur prior to the prospectus publication for a campground concession special use permit (SUP) to provide high-quality public service in the operation and maintenance of government-owned recreation facilities. The new SUP will replace the current concession permit which expires December 31, 2022. The Forest will likely advertise the prospectus spring of 2022 then complete the application evaluation and selection mid to late fall of 2022, with the intention of the successful applicant beginning operations on January l, 2023.

Recreation Sites

The prospectus offers 26 developed recreation sites for concession operations, and will be open to prospective applicants in February 2022.

Flagstaff Ranger District:

  • Campgrounds: Ashurst Lake, Bonito, Canyon vista, Dairy Springs, Double Springs, Lakeview, Little Elden Springs, Lockett Meadow, O’Leary Group and Pinegrove
  • Day-use sites: Lower Lake Mary

Mogollon Rim Ranger District:

  • Campgrounds: Moqui, Blue Ridge, Rock Crossing and Knoll Lake

Red Rock Ranger District:

  • Campgrounds: Cave Springs, Chavez Crossing Group, Clear Creek and Clear Creek Group, Manzanita and Pine Flat
  • Day-use sites: Beaver Creek, Call of the Canyon, Crescent Moon, Grasshopper Point Misc.: Oak Creek Visitor Center

Guided Site Visits

A guided in-person site visit is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, October 5, 2021 through Friday, October 8, 2021. Interested parties will be led by forest staff on a tour of key sites included in the prospectus on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. View the itinerary.

Sites included in Red Rock Ranger District would be viewed all day Tuesday, Mogollon Rim Ranger District on Wednesday and Flagstaff Ranger District on Thursday.
