Coconino National Forest Motor Vehicle Use Map

Great for: Driving, trail riding motorized vehicles

The Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) is the legal document/map that shows where it is legal to drive a motorized vehicle. The MVUM is updated every year, so please be sure that you are using the most current version when driving on the National Forest. The newest version of the map is published and available for pick-up or download by May 1 each year.

A hard copy of this map is freely available upon request at any of our forest offices or by calling the Coconino National Forest Supervisor's Office at 928-527-3600.

Keep motor vehicles on designated routes and areas shown on the current Motor Vehicle Use Map. Make note of scheduled seasonal closures and Quiet Areas before venturing into the Forest.

Coconino National Forest Map

The map shows most Forest Service system roads and trailheads, and are a 1/2" = 1 mile scale. They are planimetric and show some spot elevations. Your local Arizona Forest Service office may have this map available.

Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Map

Complete and current (2002) map of Sycamore Canyon, 2.69" = 1 miles scale. Printed on a plastic-like material, this map includes trails and trail descriptions for this wilderness area that spreads onto three National Forests.

Area National Forest maps, a variety of commercial maps, trail guides, guide books, and other informational materials are available in the gift shops at our offices and visitor centers. The Arizona Natural History Association (ANHA) operates these gift shops in partnership with the Coconino National Forest. ANHA is a non-profit corporation dedicated to encouraging the informed and sensitive use of public lands and resources in the Southwest.
