Colville National Forest Rescinding Fire Restrictions

Colville National Forest Rescinding Fire Restrictions

As rain and cooler temperatures move into the area, fire managers have removed fire restrictions. Fire restrictions are rescinded, effective Friday, September 14, 2018.

Industrial Fire Precaution Levels (IFPL) in zones 685,686, 687, and 678E are a 2, and zone 688 has downgraded to a 1, on Thursday, September 13 at 0001 hours.

Campfires are allowed and in all zones with an IFPL2, firewood cutting with a chainsaw is restricted after 1:00 p.m. For more information on IFPLs please visit: www.dnr.wa.gov/ifpl

Forest visitors must still use caution and exercise sound fire precautions on National Forest System Lands. Good fire building and extinguishing practices are advised, such as: keeping campfires small, using existing fire rings, having a bucket of water, shovel, and a fire extinguisher readily available. All campfires must be attended or fully extinguished. For tips on properly extinguishing a campfire, please contact your local ranger station or visit www.smokeybear.com
