Disabled Hunter Access Program

The Colville National Forest’s Disabled Hunter Access (DHA) program is a cooperative effort between the US Forest Service, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, and others. This program was established to provide high quality hunting opportunities on the Colville National Forest to hunters with disabilities.

Program information packets are available at Colville National Forest offices, including the Spokane District Bureau of Land Management, beginning August 1.

Hunters participating in the Colville National Forest DHA program must already have a state issued disabled hunters permit from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and must register and sign-in in person at one of the Colville National Forest offices, or the Bureau of Land Management office in Spokane prior to hunting each year.  The sign-in procedures require hunters with disabilities to sign-in only once during the season. Hunters will be asked to provide information about their hunting party and will receive an access permit, gate combinations, maps, and other pertinent information.

Registration and sign-in begins on August 1 at any Colville National Forest office.

**Remember, in order to register for disabled hunter access to the Colville National Forest routes listed below, the registering individual must already have a Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife issued disabled hunters permit**

Changes to Disabled Hunter Routes on the Colville National Forest

The Colville National Forest has provided opportunities for disabled hunters to use a number of closed roads across the Forest, during the hunting season.  This year we have three routes in our program:  Aladdin Mountain, Brewer Mountain, and Ruby.  Most of these routes will be open to all hunters with disabilities and their parties from September 1 through November 30, except two of the Aladdin DHA roads (7018-330 and 335) which are open to the general public through September 30 and will be locked with the disabled hunter access combination lock after that so only those disabled hunters with permits and their party will have access after September 30.

Always ask about local conditions before coming for your hunt.  There may be times when weather or road conditions or fire activity may affect access to our routes.
