Kids4Trees

Kids4Trees (www.kids4trees.org; www.facebook.com/kids4trees), a 501(c)(3) organization based in California, is a national participating partner with the USDA Forest Service (since 2009) and an official participant in the United Nations 2011 Year of Forests. Its mission: to provide enthusiastic and responsible environmental stewardship and healthy lifestyle programs throughout the United States, focusing on under-served and disconnected elementary school children.  Kids4Trees believes that it is absolutely vital that all children are exposed to nature and healthy choices, and have access to policies and programming essential to the sustainability of our planet and the creation of its stewards.

As part of the in-school and in-forest programs, Kids4Trees provides,  free of charge, 15 minute rotating environmental workshops (trees, wildlife, soil/water, recycling/litter and climate change), trees for planting, forest information books, children’s singers with environmentally oriented songs, environmental art projects and inspirational speakers (such as Olympic athletes). The number of children per event ranges from 150-500 per event, each lasting approximately 3-4 hours.

To date, Kids4Trees has educated and entertained over 20,000 young students and Scouts, with over 35,000 trees, plus native grasses, planted by them since 2008.

Kids4Trees is endorsed by Discover the Forest, OAK, the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), United Nations Association, Prince Albert Foundation, World Olympians Association, and many others.
