Nogales Ranger District Hosts Ceremony

Nogales, AZ, Date, November 22, 2019 - For Immediate Release.  The Nogales Ranger District on the Coronado National Forest, along with the Friends of Madera Canyon will host a Dedication Ceremony for the recently completed Proctor Loop Trail in Madera Canyon on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. The event begins at 9:45 and continues until 11:00 a.m. Visitors are encouraged to walk the trail following the event.

The trail meets accessibility standards allowing more people to enjoy Madera Canyon. It is concrete, four-feet wide and 720 feet long with an adobe color to blend in with natural surroundings. Benches are provided at the end of the trail for those who want to rest or take in the beautiful scenery.

The Friends of Madera Canyon contributed financially to this effort. This improvement will allow more visitors to enjoy the canyon and benefit present and future generations.

To reach the Proctor Parking Lot turn east from Interstate 19 at Exit 63, Continental Avenue. Travel one mile to an intersection and turn right on White House Canyon Road. Proceed nine miles to the entrance of Madera Canyon.
